I wrote a book for Christmas for all the kids who want iPads, but are not getting them. “Why Santa can not bring you an iPad 3 for Christmas” Was inspired by my cousin’s daughter who is asking for an iPad 3! Please feel free to pass it on to other friends and family.

I love the work of Illustrator Andrew Kolb! Has a mixture of vintage, Mary Blair, and Charley Harper going on in his work.

He recently finished illustrating a children’s book to the David Bowie Song “Space Oddity” just for fun and “had” been offering a free PDF download. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the download available anymore, as he got a c&d letter from the song’s copyright owner. He even had to blur out the text on the images on his site and that seems such a shame to do to beautiful art! Seems so silly since he wasn’t making any money, but I guess publicity is a form of money? ehhhhhh?

Hopefully he can work something out and this book will be available in hardcover in the future. It has such a melancholy ending, but I feel that is lacking in children’s books…..

I love a good stone fruit illustration and this one is fantastic since it shows the family tree of one of my favorite fruits! Pluots!! I had never heard of these delectable fruits until I moved to California….Then I was flabbergasted over the varieties…

My favorites are Dapple Dandy Pluots, whats yours?
